Accessories for your Pontoon Boat
Want to do something chill at the lake this summer? Throw a pontoon boat party! Pontoons have a large enough deck to carry a group of people for a small party, but also offer all the benefits of the great outdoors, including great scenery and fresh water. You can already have a pretty good time on a pontoon as it is, but try decking it out with some custom accessories if you really want to throw unforgettable parties. At L & M Marine, we want to help you out with some recommendations about what pontoon boat accessories you could use, but stop by our dealership if you have any other questions. We have a huge selection of watercraft for sale near Pensacola, FL and Biloxi, MS.
Lighting Accessories
Parties go late into the night, long after the sun's down, so why wouldn't you brighten things up a bit with some electrical lighting? Most pontoon boats have electrical outlets, so you don't have to worry about getting lights that are compatible for your source. Obviously, avoid using typical household lighting products, and opt instead for some waterproof track lights. Floodlights also make your pontoon boat glow in the water, and you should of course get some emergency lights in the front if you plan to be docking during the night time. No water party would be complete without pontoon boat accessories like these!
Audio Features
You wouldn't throw any other type of party without music, so you'll definitely want to equip your pontoon boat with a stereo system. The most convenient systems can be installed into your boat, as long as you have electricity. But if you don't want to do this, you can even connect a stereo through Bluetooth or with an auxiliary cord to play your tracks.
Bungees
A more practical accessory for your pontoon boat is a bungee dock line. Use these simple devices to dock your boat by attaching them to the pylon or dock tie-off. Also, since they stretch, bungee dock lines don't pull on your boat as hard as a rope does, which'll save some wear and tear on your pontoon.
Some Rod Holders
If you're taking the party fishing, or if all you want to do is fish, rod holders are must-have pontoon boat accessories for better fishing. These devices can be installed pretty easily, and they allow you to set one line while holding another one. Or you can just recline while the bait sits in there, and you won't have to touch the rod until you get a bite! If you want to bring your children with you, these accessories are also a great way to get them into fishing, as they can drop a line in and then do something else for awhile once they get impatient.
Bumpers
If you want to get the most out of your boat, bumpers are a great way to protect it from the dock. When your pontoon boat's tied up, any bouncing against the dock can start to add scratches and dents that make your watercraft pretty unsightly. With a corner bumper, you'll protect your pontoon from getting damaged when it bounces against the wall. These are pretty cheap and easy to install, so there's no reason to not try them out!
Boat Grills
The last accessory that every party needs is a grill for fresh food! Who doesn't get hungry during a party? There are plenty of models designed specifically for boating, which sit on the boat's fence. It's not too hard to set these up so they keep stable, and connecting one to the face makes for easier, safer cooking. Be careful though, if you bring a grill on board, also make sure you have a working fire extinguisher. Not that grills are unsafe, but they always bring the risk of fire, so make sure you're prepared for any potential emergencies.
Pontoon boats are easy to customize with these awesome accessories, so don't settle for a bare-bones party experience. Use a few of these recommendations, and you'll be throwing awesome parties on the lake just like you would on shore! If you're still in the market for a pontoon boat, we've got plenty on sale at L & M Marine in Stapleton, AL, near Theodore and Mobile, AL.
